I'm a musician and I'm starting a blog

I'm a musician, a composer of score music. I write music for TV, film, video games, ads, even corporate videos that require music in their training videos for example, (though not so much my music because I write horror underscore). I'm not a live performer. I don't write and perform for an audience.
So why am I starting a blog? Quite simply, I like the written word. There was a time when I played and sang in a band, performing on stage. Then there was a time I wrote novels for over 10 years. Then there is now, the time when I compose music in a non-performer way.
Wait! I wrote novels for over 10 years? Yes, that's right. I have 12 novels published under a few pseudonyms. Loved writing. Still do. Hate that it takes me a year to complete a book. I can complete an album of horror instrumentals in a few months.
Back to the original question. Why the blog? I've gotta be honest. I'm not a fan of being in front of a camera. I starred in 2 school plays, both musicals, and I got my first starring role came about because I had memorized the entire play and the lead actress got nervous and pulled out last minute, and I got both roles because they were both musicals and I was one of the lead singers in the school band. Singing was more critical than acting in high school, because it was the music teachers who put on the play, not the drama teachers (we didn't have any).
I'm not a fan of the camera, which means video podcasts are not for me. What would I say? And if I have to type out the transcript, why not just post the transcript? Live action Youtube videos are not for me either. I was not captivated by my dazzling acting prowess as a teenager. I could get up on stage and sing and perform without any stage-fright or nervousness. But acting is a talent I do not possess.
I like the versatility that a blog provides. I can write out my thoughts in a coherent way. I can write posts that capture my personality, shares highlights of my career and my journey, and let's face it, I can always post a live video if I'm ever feeling adventurous to get in front of a camera.
It's uncanny. When I sit down to write a post for Facebook or Instagram, my mind goes blank. Yet when I sit down to write a blog post, my mind races with ideas and I can't stop typing. I guess being behind the scenes is where I'm most comfortable these days.
So there it is. I'm a musician and I'm starting a blog. I hope you enjoy my posts.
